The CW Network Announces Gossip Girl Season 3 and More to Come
Tuesday, 24 February 2009 17:29

In what looks to be some of the greatest news yet for The CW Network, they have announced that they will continure to air new seasons of 6 of their top shows, one of which includes our favorite drama “Gossip Girl.”

It was on Tuesday morning that Dawn Ostroff, The CW President, anounced this to the elites at Warner Bros and CBS. The network has yet to make this news public but it is said that they could be making a statement as early the afternoon.

The series which will live to see a new season include “Gossip Girl,” “Supernatural," “90210,” "Smallvile," "One Tree Hill," and “America’s Next Top Model”. Though the ratings of these shows made them the most likely to be renewed, not all of them were 100% until now.

It was also questioned if the network inself was going to live to see a new season, however it has become more clear as time has progressed that The CW is performing better than expected and picking up rating at a steady pace.

The networks past 2008-09 season has had pretty succesful rating which was marked with the creation and launch of the revamped “90210” as well as the return and grouping of “Gossip Girl” and “One Tree Hill” on Monday nights. Each of these shows displayed significant gains last season in comparison to the averages of other shows in the identical timeslots.

The CW is also beginning to make it clear that they are setting a mark in the demographic of young female tv watchers and has been very successful in doing so.

Even with 6 TV series being renewed there are still 2 holes to be filled in the The CW’s 2009-10 schedule. It has been announced that it is very likely that these two slots will be filled with a couple of shows which are at the moment in developement. One of which is a remake of “Melrose Place” and the second being related to our very favorite “Gossip Girl”  being a prequel known as “Lily”. Two other projects which are also being worked on by The CW include “Vampire Diaries” and “Light Years.”

Prospects of a return however look grim for the following TV shows: “Everybody Hates Chris," “Reaper,” “The Game” and “Privileged."

This picture has left me speechless yet somehow wanting more.

Apparently Serena played by Blake Lively wants to be with another guy, however if it were up to me her and Dan, Penn Badgley, would get back together right now.

Gabriel Serrano, played by Armie Hammer, A socialite from Europe is the new boy that is pictured above kissing SerenaThis new guy is Gabriel Serrano.

It is said that in the long run her will eventually become a scrumbag, however at the current time it will be an exciting and enjoyable time for Serena. I’m sure everyone along with myself are awaiting Serena and Gabriel to fall in love, and at the perfect time since Dan is currently all over Miss Carr, played by Lauren Breckenridge leaving no reason for Serena to think twice about this.

I simply cannot wait for Gossip Girl Season 3, but in the mean time don’t forget that you can watch every episode of Gossip Girl on the Download Page!

The CW Network to Premiere Shows in Summer

The CW seems to be seriously concidering launchin their 2009-2010 lineup of shows in the Summer rather than waiting until the Fall. This would mean both a huge change in their program schedule as well as our viewing schedule!

President of CW Entertainment Dawn Ostroff on Saturday claimed that the network could begin showing its lineup sometime between July and August of 2009. In the past summers networks have decided to premiere a number of shows, however never before has a network launched its entire lineup in the summer.

"The idea is to get out of the fray and bring viewers in when there's not as much competition," said Ms. Ostrof,  also going on to add that the CW network has "to zig when others zag."

Ms. Ostroff went on to explain that the CW network could possibly end its season in April playing a few short shows to fill the empty slots between the two months of May and June.

It seems that the CW network may be on to something as it is also rumored that Fox may be making some changes in their plans, it has been said that they may attempt launching shows in August or even attempt to have shows premiere in March and continue to run through July.
